High-Frequency & Switch-Mode Magnetics

Custom SMPS, planar and switch-mode transformers on EE/EF/ETD ferrite cores by P&A International

Custom High-Frequency & Switch-Mode Magnetics

Switch-mode designs live or die on the magnetics. P&A International engineers, prototypes and delivers custom SMPS and planar transformers, LAN & signal transformers, common-mode chokes, and power & SMD inductors — EE, EF, ETD, EFD, RM, PQ and planar cores, 1 W to 3 kW, 20 kHz to 1 MHz+ — built exactly to your schematic, target cost and compliance requirement.

As an engineering-led contract manufacturer founded as an engineering consultancy, we assign one dedicated engineer to your project from DFM review to qualified samples in 10–15 working days, then scale into volume through our vetted partner-factory network, where every supplier is ISO 9000 certified or better.

Power and SMD inductors with litz and flat-wire windings for high-current low-resistance designs

Power & SMD inductors

Power, filter, flat-wire high-current & SMD inductors. Broad L/I range with litz, foil and multi-layer options for low AC resistance and high saturation.

Engineering capability

  • Magnetic design & simulation — turns ratio, leakage inductance, core loss, AL value, thermal modelling
  • Core grade & planar PCB-stack selection for power density and repeatability
  • Thermal & efficiency optimisation; EMI/EMC mitigation

Why engineers & buyers choose PA

For design engineers

A true design partner — one dedicated engineer, full simulation and DFM support, rapid samples, and magnetics optimised for efficiency, leakage, thermal and EMI. We routinely target leakage-inductance reduction and first-pass DFM approval on demanding topologies such as LLC resonant converters — not just off-the-shelf parts.

For purchasing

Low-risk scalability — predictable 10–15-day prototypes, flexible MOQ from one-off to production, target-cost DFM, a single point of contact, and a vetted ISO 9000+ partner network managed end-to-end by P&A. No hand-offs, no surprises.

3 easy steps to get started

1

Send us your spec

Send your schematic or spec sheet. One dedicated engineer reviews it and confirms the technical details with you.

2

Proposed design & quote

You receive a proposed design and indicative pricing — typically within 48 hours — to review and refine together.

3

Samples & production

Qualified samples with full test data in 10–15 working days; on approval we scale into volume through our partner network.

Applications

Power supplies & chargers · AC-DC / DC-DC converters · industrial & renewable-energy power · telecom, data & PoE infrastructure · LED drivers · energy storage & battery management · consumer and medical electronics.

For lower-frequency and mains designs, see our low-frequency & power transformers, including toroidal, encapsulated and three-phase types.

Choosing the right switch-mode magnetics

Getting the magnetics right early saves costly re-spins later. A few decisions shape every high-frequency design — and sharing this detail lets us quote and prototype faster:

Topology first Flyback for low-power isolated rails; forward / two-switch forward for mid-power; push-pull, half- and full-bridge for higher power; LLC resonant for soft-switching and high efficiency. Topology, switching frequency and I/O voltages set the core and winding strategy.
Core & material EE, EF, ETD and EFD cover most SMPS work; RM and PQ give compact, low-EMI designs; planar suits low-profile, high-power-density builds. Ferrite grade balances core loss, saturation and cost at your frequency.
Leakage & efficiency Winding strategy — interleaving and sandwiching — controls leakage and AC/proximity losses, which drive efficiency, snubber design and EMI. We model and minimise it.
Thermal headroom Temperature rise comes from combined core and copper loss; we select bobbin, wire gauge (including litz) and potting to keep the part inside your thermal limits.
Isolation & safety Creepage and clearance, the insulation system (reinforced or triple-insulated wire) and compliance to IEC 62368-1 / 61558, CE and UL are designed in from the start.

What to send us for a fast, accurate quote

The more of this you can share, the quicker we can return a proposed design and price:

  • Schematic or topology, plus switching frequency
  • Input/output voltages, currents and power (turns ratio if known)
  • Isolation and safety requirements, and target standards
  • Mechanical envelope — height, footprint, mounting — and any thermal limits
  • Target cost and annual volume or call-off pattern
  • Any reference design, competitor part number or physical sample

Working from a competitor part or a sample is fine — our engineer will reverse-engineer it or design a drop-in equivalent to your specification.
