Encapsulated Transformers

Custom encapsulated and PCB-mount transformers, potted for harsh environments, by P&A International

Custom Encapsulated & PCB-Mount Transformers

Encapsulated transformers seal the magnetics against moisture, dust and vibration for harsh environments and safety-critical isolation. P&A International engineers, prototypes and delivers custom encapsulated and PCB-mount transformers — potted, sealed and board-level — a few VA to several hundred VA, 50/60 Hz, built to your voltages, footprint and safety class.

As an engineering-led contract manufacturer founded as an engineering consultancy, we assign one dedicated engineer to your project from design review to qualified samples in 10–15 working days, then scale into volume through our vetted partner-factory network, where every supplier is ISO 9000 certified or better.Request a quote ›

Why choose PA encapsulated transformers

Sealed & protected

Potted construction resists moisture, dust, chemicals and vibration for harsh and outdoor environments.

Safe isolation

Reinforced or double-insulated to IEC 61558 / EN 61558, CE and UL for safety-critical designs.

Board-level fit

PCB-mount and chassis footprints designed to your layout, pin-out and height.

Built to your spec

Custom voltages, taps and outputs, DFM-reviewed for cost and manufacturability.

Engineering capability

  • Magnetic design & simulation — turns ratio, regulation, temperature rise
  • Potting compound & case selection for thermal, environmental and safety class
  • Reinforced / double-insulated construction; creepage and clearance to IEC 61558
  • PCB-mount pin-out and chassis footprints to your layout
  • Multi-output and tapped designs; electrostatic screens
  • DFM review to hit target cost while preserving performance
  • Qualified samples with full test data before any volume tooling
  • One dedicated engineer owns the project end-to-end

Why engineers & buyers choose PA

For design engineers

A true design partner — one dedicated engineer, full simulation and DFM support, rapid samples, and encapsulated transformers optimised for thermal performance, safety class and board fit. We design to your footprint and environment — not just catalogue parts.

For purchasing

Low-risk scalability — predictable 10–15-day prototypes, flexible MOQ from one-off to production, target-cost DFM, a single point of contact, and a vetted ISO 9000+ partner network managed end-to-end by P&A. No hand-offs, no surprises.

3 easy steps to get started

1

Send us your spec

Send your drawing or spec sheet. One dedicated engineer reviews it and confirms the technical details with you.

2

Proposed design & quote

You receive a proposed design and indicative pricing — typically within 48 hours — to review and refine together.

3

Samples & production

Qualified samples with full test data in 10–15 working days; on approval we scale into volume through our partner network.

Applications

Building services & HVAC · lighting and LED drivers · industrial & outdoor equipment · safety-critical and medical isolation · door-entry & security · pumps and controls.

Choosing the right encapsulated transformer

A few decisions shape every encapsulated design — sharing this detail lets us quote and prototype faster:

Environment Operating temperature, humidity, ingress and chemical exposure set the potting compound and case.
Isolation class Reinforced or double-insulated construction and creepage/clearance to IEC 61558 / EN 61558 for the safety class you need.
Footprint & pin-out PCB layout, pin spacing, height and chassis mounting designed to your board and enclosure.
Voltage & rating Primary/secondary voltages, taps, outputs and VA rating set the core and copper.
Thermal Potting and case are selected so the sealed part stays inside its temperature class under load.

What to send us for a fast, accurate quote

The more of this you can share, the quicker we can return a proposed design and price:

  • Primary and secondary voltages, VA rating and number of outputs
  • Operating environment (temperature, humidity, ingress)
  • Isolation / safety class and target standards
  • PCB footprint, pin-out and height, or chassis mounting
  • Mechanical envelope and any thermal limits
  • Target cost and annual volume or call-off pattern
  • Any reference design, competitor part number or physical sample

Working from a competitor part or a sample is fine — our engineer will reverse-engineer it or design a drop-in equivalent to your specification.

    Frequently asked questions

When should I use an encapsulated transformer?
When the magnetics must survive moisture, dust, vibration or chemicals, or need safety-critical sealed isolation – building services, outdoor, medical and industrial equipment.
What isolation classes can you build?
Reinforced or double-insulated construction with creepage and clearance to IEC 61558 / EN 61558, CE and UL as specified.
Can you match a specific PCB footprint and pin-out?
Yes – PCB-mount pin-out, pin spacing, height and chassis footprints are designed to your board and enclosure.
What power range do you cover?
From a few VA to several hundred VA, single- and multi-output, with taps and screens to your specification.
What are prototype lead times and minimum order quantities?
Qualified samples with full test data typically in 10-15 working days. Volumes scale through our vetted partner-factory network; share your annual volume for an MOQ with the quote.
